Simulaids had a delightful visit this week from the UK team at Corpuls, who came to our Coalville office to try our their CPR arm with our manikins.
A CPR arm is able to perform chest compressions on a patient without direct human intervention and is becoming an increasingly common sight in ED departments and even in pre-hospital care. Many products only work with an ‘average’ adult, however the Corpuls CPR arm can accommodate a much wider range of patients, including children and those in bariatric care.
Our R42 manikin presented an ideal opportunity for Emma, Jamie and Zak to show what the Corpuls CPR arm can do, and also showcase how valuable the R42 is as bariatric care (care for those with extreme obesity) is becoming increasingly common in the UK.
Bradley Lawrence, Chief Operating Officer for Simulaids, said.
“We often see these devices in use, but invariably it will be on a slim, white skinned manikin. For us in simulation the question we get asked all the time is ‘do you do different sizes, colours and ethnicities’? Today people want to be more diverse, and the R42 offers all that and more.”
