Simulaids had a wonderful time at the ASPiH Conference in Edinburgh this week, catching up with some familiar faces from the world of simulation and making plenty of new friends and connections.
A big thank you to all who made the show possible – from those who manned the stand over the two days to those who held the fort at home in Coalville and shared with the world what we were doing.
A big highlight for us was the opportunity to exhibit with some of our global partners, including Sil Fon from Medical X in the Netherlands, Michal from Nasco Healthcare in the USA, and Julia and Georg from SkillQube in Germany. Their knowledge and expertise about their products was invaluable for us to watch and for the delegates we met to experience.
We were excited about some of the new products on show too, for instance the cutting-edge high-fidelity manikin ADAM-X (pictured) which sweats and blinks like a human, and MVR Nursing, A Virtual Reality simulator headset which replicates clinical scenarios for medical training. We’re also going to be partnering with Medical X to make their brand-new Anatomy Table available in the UK.
Our proudest moment of the week, however, was the launch of our own new product. FGM Care Aware, from our CliniSim brand, has been designed to help medical professionals detect and diagnose the different types of Female Genital Mutilation.
FGM is a sensitive subject, but having worked closely with a leading Medical School in designing the product we were hopeful that the simulation community would accept and understand it. And so it proved – we were so encouraged how many clinicians told us about the need for a product like this and how it could help medical practitioners learn to detect FGM more easily.
